MTN aimed to launch an IPTV service “MTN TV” in Cyprus with a very competitive pricing point compared to its well established competitors in the market. A key aim of MTN Cyprus was to acquire additional digital rights for linear channels not yet seen before in the market, including Network PVR. 3Vision were approached to develop a content strategy, negotiate the rights and acquire over 40 linear channels across a basic and extended basic tier (commercially available as “Standard” and “Complete” Packs), as well additional a la carte packs which were to be added to MTN TV following launch.
Once again our understanding of content strategy and acquisitions, dealing with a vast array of content owners and Pay TV services, meant we were ideally placed to:
- Develop a bespoke strategy and consumer proposition that worked for the Cypriot market
- Evaluate the potential options for sourcing content to support the proposition
- Identify content owners to approach for linear channel acquisitions
- Approach and negotiate linear content deals on MTN Cyprus’ behalf
The unique experience of our team enabled us to negotiate rights, including Network PVR, Catch Up (available via a Backwards EPG), OTT and Multiscreen rights for linear channels for the IPTV service and accompanying TV Go App.
